The Tokuren Gold is specialized for shiai without sacrificing protection like most Jissengata sets. The 6mm cross-stitch provides a great level of protection and comfort, when combined with shortened mendare and a light duralumin mengane it results in a very easy to wear men that protects you against hard strikes. The lightweight orizashi finish makes this an excellent men for shiai without giving up valuable protection.
