It fits the iaito perfectly and makes all the sheathing flow better.

This obi is usuale very sought after, and for a good reason. The middle section is stiff while the two extremities are very soft. At first i couldn’t figure how to tie it but there is a Iaidoka that explains it on YouTube. The problem? Once you use this, you won’t go back to the classic kaku obi. It’s so comfortable i surely will get another.

This obi has definitely helped me improve my sayabiki, a common struggle among women practitioners of iaido. I’ve heard suggestions to wear silk obi, but it is a far more expensive alternative than this stretch obi. A bit of a learning curve to get the right tightness as it loosens quite easily and is a bit longer than traditional obi. But I still recommend it, it’s certainly helped me to improve my sayabiki.
