Tetto Kabutowari
Tetto literally means an iron sword and the name is derived from the shape which resembles the Japanese sword, but it doesn't have the cutting edge and the function is rather similar to the Jutte's because it is mainly designed for the purpose of capturing the enemies without harming them and/or for self-defense. Traditionally, the Tetto is also called Kabutowari, that is, a helmet crusher. This Tetto Kabutowari handle is securely and tightly wrapped with cotton cord. All handmade. 47 cm long. Approximately weight: 670g.

the kabutowari sold here is cast steel of very high quality and an excellent defense in its own right. I would not recommend it's use as a sword defense without a lot of practice, as it can easily break bones. I gave one to each of my living five children. Four of them are half Japanese and two were born in Japan. I am descended from Temijin and mixed of Mongolian, Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese and varied European origin. My ex-wife is Japanese. I am a hereditary Baron and hereditary knight grand cross as are my children, both males and females. I highly recommend this item. My first one purchased in Japan was $50 in the 1970s, the current price at Tozando is an excellent value.
