Vixia Traditional - Cotton Style Synthetic Hakama

Accurately closer to 4.78 stars. These Hakama are very high quality, if the cotton Hakama was not also offered on this site then these would undoubtably be 5 stars solely off of comfort during training. Additionally if you have a washing machine without a center aggitator, these are immediately machine washable. The ideal level of quality to durability, they have that rugged feel.

Dries super fast, has a clean cut and fits perfectly well. Super easy to care.
Stitched pleats are perfect!
I decided to buy a second piece and 3 of my dojo colleagues asked me to purchase for them too.

The fabric is thick and comfortable. The “legs” of the hakama are thinner than my previous ones (it’s more “pants” rather than “robe” if you know what I mean).
Looks and feels high quality. I’d buy one number smaller next time.

These hakama are very well made and I like the feel of the material. It does feel almost exactly like real cotton, perhaps a bit stiffer but this is not a drawback. The stitching is great and they seen very robust. The stitched pleats are also a great feature.
The problem is the fit. They are too slim. I am 194 cm (6'4") so I ordered the size 29. I weigh 95 kg, so I'm not exactly skinny, but neither would I say I'm fat. My waist is 97 cm (38") and the cutaways on the sides are pulled up to my obi. The front pleats do not lie flat on my upper thighs. The front straps (the longer straps) are long enough to tie, but just. Even though these are the largest (i.e. longest) size 29, I don't think anyone with more than a 90 cm waist should buy them and over about 110 cm it would be impossible to tie them. They are definitely much slimmer than every other pair of hakama I've ever owned, and I've owned a lot. Tozando, can you ask Mitsuboshi to make a fuller cut??
