The Tsubasa Hakama, crafted from Primeflex Tetron fabric, are designed to move with your body without deforming or overstretching. Despite being the ideal thickness for Aikido practice, the fabric remains lightweight and comfortable. It offers slight stretch, ensuring durability and resistance to deformation during long sessions. Additionally, the breathable material wicks moisture away, keeping you cool in summer training.

This Aikido Hakama also features Aikido-specific enhancements, such as a raised front hem, seven lines of stitching on the obi, and a soft Koshi-ita for Ukemi. The obi includes an inner core for improved tying and hold, enhancing performance during Keiko.

problems with this fabric

I've had two problems with this hakama due to the type of fabric. The first is that it very easily collects dust, and the dust sticks into the weave of the fabric. I had it professionally cleaned, and a day later it became dusty again. The second, more significant problems, is that the inside of the hakama developed pills around the knees after 15 months of use, which are very rough and create irritation on the knees during practice. I will be needing to buy a new hakama now after using this one for only a year and a half. Perhaps if you train somewhere that isn't dusty (we clean the dojo in Kyoto twice a day, but it is still dust in Japan) and you rarely train vigorously or do technique from swariwaza this hakama would work fine for you. I still think Tozando is a great company, but I wish I had bought the normal fabric hakama in the first place.
