It's a beautiful iaito, love the weight and the quality of the materials, feels great in my hands. The price was excellent too, tje delivery was pretty quick, even with the hollydays.

I was forced to pay COD charges in order to receive my shipment 1Z433283D972262027 On delivery, UPS required a payment of $247 for tariffs and brokerage fees — representing 61% of the purchase price of the item. I had no choice but to pay these charges or risk my package being held in limbo.
Prior to the payment, I reached out to UPS multiple times for clarification. Unfortunately, I was given the runaround from one department to another. Eventually, I was told that the brokerage department could only be contacted by email. On August 11, 2025, I sent a detailed email to the brokerage team, but over a month has passed with no response whatsoever.
This lack of transparency, accountability, and communication is unacceptable. As a customer, I deserve a clear breakdown of these excessive charges and a timely response to my inquiries. To date, I have received neither.

This is the most expensive iaito I've ever purchased. Most of the experience I have with iaito are from other online retailers popular in the states and they are very cheap and it shows. I have seen a lot of talk about tozando iaito from youtube channels like ask shogo and were also recommended by several other practitioners I've talked to. Shipping was super fast as it was delivered to my house in Alabama, USA in less than a week. Customs did charge me an additional $70 that was charged to me through UPS. The iaito itself is beautiful. I have seen Shinken with less quality. Fit and finish is very good and the blade itself is beautiful. Weight and balance is great. Ito is tight. Tsuba is well constructed. And of course that bohi gives nice audible feedback. I was skeptical about going with the more affordable option instead of spending the money for a custom iaito but I have been thoroughly impressed by the quality. If this is what can be expected from the more affordable options I would love to see what a fully custom iaito would look like. I will 100% be buying another for my collection.

I have been looking for a well weighted Iaito for over 10 years when I practiced Akido and Iaido. Everything here in the states is designed to be displayed so the are very top heavy and not suited for practice. During our trip to Japan, I was looking for a place to get a real practice Iaito. This place was recommended but I unfortunately was on a itinerary where I could not get over to visit their shop. So once I returned, I shopped around their site and finally decided to pick up the Toryumon Blue Ryu Sukashi Iaito. This Iaito is amazing and feels really good. And built with quality materials. Highly recommended.
