Hoping to keep with your regular glasses while training in kendo? The men alteration may allow you to do just that! For glasses that are up to or below 12.5cm wide at the rims, this modification to any of our men will allow a bit of space for wearing glasses within the men.
So, how does this modification work? By altering the amount of stuffing in the left and right of the uchiwa (the internal cushion one's face rests against inside the men), as pictured above small spaces are created which can allow for glasses to fit within.
However, in order to create the spaces, our craftsman will need to attach the modified uchiwa to the menbuton of the men. While these attachments are unobtrusive and not easily seen, it is important to point out that the stitches will be visible on the outside of the men as can bee seen in the image below.
While this allows for the necessary space to be created on the inside of the men, it does hinder some accessories, such as the ISG Tsuki Guard. However, these stitches can be easily removed should the men require any repair in the future.
