It ties a little high over the chest
Very comfortable and durable feel. Quality of this product is apparent before touching.
I ordered the top separate from the unbleached hakama (which had an issue but was promptly fixed by tozando) the color was an exact match. The set looks good together. I ordered the largest size 4 and I typically wear a size 5 kendo gi. Its slight snug in the chest but nothing un wearable. I'm 5'6, 215lbs and it wears flat aside from some slight bunching around the tie. All in all i recommend the whole set.
Wonderful gi- just make sure to order the right size. I ordered a 4 and it fits like a 6 (like a bathrobe!).
I am new to Iaido, so this is my very first Iaito. I have to say that I am beyond amazed on how beautiful and well made this katana is. The authenticity certificate gives an extra validity on the superb quality of the product.
Was lucky to see the prototype of these in February, couldn't wait to order. Super flexible design really improves hand and wrist movement. The right kotebuton padding is very protective. Tozando online support was very helpful with sizing, ordered XL for 21 length and 22.5 around palm, fit perfectly. Have only used twice so far but all around nice build! Two things- maybe offer with smoked deerskin palms as an option, and thumbs could use a teeny bit more cushion. Shipping? Amazing- 6 days from order to receipt in US. For off the shelf kotes these are a fantastic find!
Wow! I can't say enough about the quality of workmanship on this iaito!
I themed the sword design based on our current "Year of the Fire Horse" and the elements all came together as a piece of functional art. I got a heavyweight blade but with a deep bohi groove and it matches the feel of the shinken I use for tamishigiri almost exactly in weight, feel, and balance. In form and function this iaito is a joy.
I am new into Iaido. I received my first Iaito and my complete Iaido uniform kit. Everything came with an authenticity certificate made in Kyoto-Japan. Amazing quality, perfect t fit.
I ordered the hard shell Travel Case because I need to take my iaito with me when I return home, and bring it back when I'm in Fukuoka. The case is very well constructed, and the zipper that closes the case is heavy duty and rides on sturdy canvas-like fabric. It comes with a carrying handle and a shoulder strap - both of which are built to withstand mistreatment by baggage handlers. The inside of the case is equipped with several velcro secured netted pockets large enough to hold accessories (e.g., bottle of sword oil, cleaning cloths, iaito certificates), and includes two dense foam blocks that cradle both ends of up to two iaito. Velcro straps secure the iaito from moving inside the case. I haven't yet taken this case on a flight yet, but feel confident that I will have no problem checking in this case with my iaito.
