Shuhari - 守破離 - describes the never-ending process of improvement in budo. First we abide by the core principles (Shu - 守), then we break out into our own experimentation (Ha - 破) and finally we separate ourselves entirely and forge our own path (Ri - 離). This enigmatic phrase is dyed on a cotton tenugui approximately 96cm by 33cm. It is available in five colors.
