 What is Katori Shinto Ryu?

Katori Shinto Ryu is one of the oldest and most famous Japanese martial arts, introduced to the West by Don Draeger. With over 650 years of history, it was created by Iizasa Choisai Ienao after 1000 days of intense training.

This martial art is known for its paired kata exercises, where partners practice many moves together. It includes a wide range of techniques from different weapons, such as swords, staffs, and spears. This variety comes from its battlefield origins when martial arts were used in combat, not just for self-defense.

Practitioners learn to handle different weapons and techniques, often aiming for openings in armor. Katori Shinto Ryu's techniques have been carefully preserved over generations and are practiced by many people both in Japan and around the world.

High-quality bokuto

The shape of the bokuto is really unique. It's a hard and heavy bokuto as expected for the katas practice (lots of collisions). I highly recommend this bokuto for everyone.

High Quality worht the price.

My Arnis master had these practice sticks that were shaped like swords.

After much googling I found this place and placed an order.
When it arrived I realized I should have double-checked the dimensions. But I knew that this was the right place to buy such practice swords.

Tozando let me return my original purchase and I purchased a pair with the correct dimensions.

I LOVE THEM

I share this website with anyone who would care.

Excellent as always

I still have my 3 year old bokken (always ordered from Tozando), even though it's almost broken due to practice. The new one came in in less more than a month and the manufacture is flawless as always, and I'm very happy with the engraving. I highly recommend it.
