These simple Hakama are made from Tetron, a polyester and rayon (artificial silk) blend. Strong and durable, these are great for practitioners seeking a practical and economic pair of hakama to get down to some training. They are suitable for kendo, iaido, naginata, or kyudo - however, due to the Hera (plastic hook for the obi) and stiff Koshi-ita (backboard), we do not recommend these for Aikido as Ukemi will not be easy.

Basic Tetron Hakama
My first Basic Tetron Hakama was purchased in the mid-1990s and have not regretted it. I've since ordered two others for myself over the years, one with my name embroidered on; and I used to practice everyday with that same hakama - which reveals its quality and durability. I have since recommended it to my students. It is functional, durable, it keeps well, folds well, and looks very presentable. Exactly how the description is, this Hakama is very practical and economical! It is easy to move around in and doesn't feel too heavy or cheap. The ability to add a custom embroidery is also a great option. The stitching is very clean and vibrant!
