Shobu Pattern Cotton Drawstring Bogu Bag
Made from cotton canvas and secured with a sturdy drawstring, this is a simple and traditionally styled bogu bag - decorated with the popular shobu iris pattern.
The bottom corners of the bag are reinforced with synthetic leather to protect the bag from the wear and tear of movement and storage. It is large enoguh to hold a complete adult sized bogu set.
The shobu pattern is a stylistic depiction of the iris that became popular in the Sengoku Jidai - it has long been associated with warriors and samurai thanks to it symbolising vitality and strength in Japanese culture. This has ensured its popularity amongst budoka up to today, much like the beloved Tombo dragonfly design.
Approximate Dimensions: 40cm x 52cm x 28cm
Nice design and useful enough that you can even fit your Kendōgi and hakama. The seams, however are only single stitch; I can't see this bag lasting for very long before it tears at the seams. The cotton material, whilst not flimsy, is not particularly thick either. Perhaps a thick canvas material would be more practical and robust. Love the design though. Simple and Classy.
