Measure and add 6-10cm to select your pant size.

The measurements of the dogi received for size 1 and size 2 were approximately 3cm shorter on the jacket compared to the size table chart (plus add another 3cm for room). The pant size was off by 1cm but note the design is narrow on the around the hips. We measured them and compared them to the table after receiving them. My wife measured 37cm so we chose Size1 with pants at 40cm. However, Size1 was tight and hard to lift the leg up. She fit Size2 perfectly around the leg and hip. I recommend that after you get your measurements, add ~3cm for (cut and shrinkage) and add another 5-10cm on your comfort (bagginess margin). I'll be donating the Size1 to a local Aikido Org.

Pay attention!

Great item: very good quality.

And... be careful about the size: it may shrink one or two sizes when washed! If according to the size chart you need number 4, then take 5, by all means!

When you put on the jacket for the first time, it will look like a coat on you, but after washing everything will be fine.

I usually throw away the pants or give them to larger fellow aikidokas. I buy my dogi pants at another store. :)

Cooler practice!

In the high desert lands of New Mexico (USA )the temps are very high, this do gi is the saver! It does not make you over perspire and is lighter in the hot hours in the dojo while practicing… allows me to catch my breath easier too!

Runs small, you get what you pay for

PROs: gi has ties at the waist both inside and outside to hold it closed. Fabric is thick enough for kata grabs, but not too hot. Sizing quite a bit smaller than other styles - look closely at the size charts. I’m a 4 in this uniform but a 2 in some others. The gi looks sharp and fits (me) well.

CONs: fabric quality doesn’t seem very good. Knees show wear already and I have only been using the uniform for three months, training twice a week. I do not have a hakama, so knees directly contact the mats. They are single-layer: not reinforced. Uniform also wrinkles hard in the dryer. I air dry mine.

For a third the price of a fancy uniform, this is a solid intro purchase.
