Limited Edition Suzaku Iaito - Maruzuru Koshirae

$500.00

Taking a look at the natural beauty around Kyoto this koshirae was created with these sights in mind. The tsuba has a beautiful crane design which is paired with lotus and carp menuki. The fuchi-kashira maintains the natural theme, but adds a traditional and spiritual link with a dragon among clouds.

Our Suzaku iaito are renowned for their gravity cast blades that are tougher than the regular sand-cast alloys used in iaito.  This combined with the authentic flourishes our craftsmen add like that shinken hisaki and marutome hi make these swords the favourites of practioners both in Japan and internationally.  This particular sword has 2.5 Shaku blade with a Notare style hamon.

The 8.5 Sun tsuka has been silk wrapped in the katate maki style which well suited to single-handed techniques.  The tetsukon silk ito give it a elegant feel that is also very durable.  They match the sageo that adorn the gloss black kuroro saya.

This is an in-stock iaito and will ship in approximately 1 to 3 working days after you make your order. Please bear in mind as this part of a limited run sale of remaining stock, it is not possible to return or exchange.  This is an iaito, as such it is a replica sword designed for iaido practice, made from a non-ferrous alloy that cannot be sharpened.
