The Hourai is incredibly light-weight and thin, but is more than durable enough for the rigours of aikido practice. An evolution of our classic Yomogi - this uniform utilises the same poly-cotton fibers infused with the naturally anti-bacterial Japanese mogwort. Thanks to its unique ultra-fine sashiko stitching, the mateiral is extra-thin, but with no loss of durability or strength. This makes it the perfect summer uniform as you can remain cool, even during intense practice.
The fabric's beautiful patterns also gives the material a structure that wicks sweat and moisture quickly from the skin without sticking to it - this excess mositure then exaporates off quickly leaving your dogi light and easy to move in. combined with its naturally anti-bacterial properties it is comfortable agaisnt sensitive skin and reduces the amlunt of maintenance required.
The pants are also reinforced at the knees to allow for extra durability during suwari waza and are made form the same antibacterial fibers.
